Honkai: Star Rail is HoYoverse's free-to-play turn-based space fantasy RPG for PC, PlayStation 5, Android, and iOS / iPadOS. Players assemble teams, exploit enemy weaknesses in turn-based combat, explore different worlds aboard the Astral Express, and develop characters through equipment and progression systems. Version 4.4, "In Ravages Does the Whistle Sound," is live with Himeko • Nova, the Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works] collaboration characters Rin Tohsaka and Gilgamesh, new Planarcadia story content, and limited-time events.

Version 4.4, "In Ravages Does the Whistle Sound," launched on July 15, 2026 and runs through August 26, 2026. The update adds Himeko • Nova alongside the Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works] collaboration characters Rin Tohsaka and Gilgamesh, expands Planarcadia with new Trailblaze Mission and Trailblaze Continuance chapters, and adds events including Fate/Star Rail Night and Antigraft Brickbuster.

Honkai: Star Rail launched for PC, Android, and iOS / iPadOS on April 26, 2023. The PlayStation 5 version followed on October 11, 2023, with HoYoverse supporting cross-save when accounts are linked correctly.

Gameplay and setting
Honkai: Star Rail uses turn-based combat built around four-character teams, enemy weaknesses, Basic ATKs, Skills, Ultimates, character Talents, and distinct combat Paths. Players build characters and teams, explore environments, solve puzzles, take part in combat and management-oriented modes, and progress through regularly expanded story chapters and events. The player takes the role of the Trailblazer, traveling aboard the Astral Express between worlds affected by Stellarons while encountering civilizations connected to the Aeons and their Paths.
